Elon Musk, the new owner and shareholder and also the new chief executive of Twitter after buying the social media platform for $44 billion, recently says that those Twitter users whose accounts are verified with blue ticks will have to pay $8 if they want to use their Twitter accounts with verified badges.
This announcement has really sent Twitter’s users a hard message and put them into a panic when the new owner Elon musk made this announcement.
It is to be remembered that first, Elon musk said that all users with verified badges/blue ticks will have to pay $20, but after some users tried negotiating with him, the new chief executive Elon Musk agreed to reduce the cost and after that, he said that the verified account will cost $8. The deal, however, still failed to convince Twitter users.
After some time, a large number of people started tagging him in order to register their complaints and explain why verified accounts should not be paid. In response to that question and tagging from Twitter users, Musk first changed his Twitter bio to “Twitter Complaint Hotline Operator.”
Later, he immediately posted a series of tweets and strictly reiterated that the service will still cost $8.
“To all complainers, please continue complaining, but it will cost $8,” he also said.
