KARACHI: The famous Indian writer and poet, Javed Akhtar is under sever criticism after he issued a controversial statement against Pakistan in Faiz Festival 2023, that was held in Lahore.
A large number of Pakistani celebrities have spoken up on social media network Twitter against his controversial remarks against Pakistan.
The Faiz Festival — that started on from February 17 to 19 — and also days following it, several celebrities shared videos and photos on different social media networks. They shared their excitement due to the presence of Indian guest, Javed Akhtar, who honoured their presence at the event.
During the Faiz Festival, the honorable guest issued a controversial statement against Pakistan due to which the jubilations soon soured as a video clip of the Indian poet’s speech went viral on social media.
In that video clipe, the Indian writer Javed Akthar can be seen accusing Pakistan of allowing the attackers of the Mumbai attacks and said that the culprits of those attacks are roaming free in your country.
During the festival, the Indian writer was addressing a session and said that: “I am from Bombay and I saw the attack on my city. The attackers were neither from Norway nor Eypgt. Those attackers are still roaming around your country. Therefore, if an Indian has any grievance in their heart, you should not be offended.”
After issuing his controversial remarks against Pakistan, countless celebrities spoke up and accused and condemned the baseless implications of Javed Akhtar.
One of the jounralist Khuram Zubair shared Javed akhtar controversial video clip and said that “Javed Akhtar known to subcontinent as a literary figure, accused Pakistan of harboring terrorists at Faiz Festival. But, forgot that Kulbhushan wasn’t from Norway & wasn’t promoting peace in Pak. It would have been better if he talked about poetry/literature instead of Politics.”
Among Pakistani celebrities, the megastar Shaan Shahid also posted on social media platform Twitter, saying: He is quiet regarding the murders in Gujrat despite knowing who the culprit is. Yet, he is searching for those behind the 26/11 attacks in Pakistan. Who give him a visa?”
