LAHORE: The Chief Minister of Punjab Chaudhry Parvez Elahi has said in his recent statement that I and my all party members will be the first ones to defend General (retd) Qamar Javed Bajwa if anything further is said against the former army chief.
His crucial statement came after the big announcement of PTI Chairman about the dissolution of KP and Punjab assemblies. Ch Parvez Elahi was talking to a team of journalists when he referred to the PTI Chairman Imran Khan criticising the former army chief of Pakistan Gen (retd) Qamar Bajwa.
During the conversation with journalists in Lahore, he said “I felt very bad when Khan was speaking against Gen (retd) Bajwa,” Parvez said adding that the former army chief was a “benefactor” and nothing should be said against benefactors.
Chaudhry Parvez Elahi further added that “the former chief of army staff “Gen (retd) Bajwa has many favors on him [Khan], therefore the favors shouldn’t be forgotten.”
Chaudhry Parez Elahi, on this occasion, further said that although we PTI allies but still we cannot forget the favours of their “benefactors.”
