The wedding season is officially underway, thanks to Nicola Peltz, a 27-year-old billionaire heiress and actress, and Brooklyn Beckham, 23, the eldest son of British footballer David Beckham and former Spice Girl-turned-designer Victoria Beckham, who married this weekend at the Peltz family’s Palm Beach Estate in Florida.
Peltz looked stunning in a classic Valentino gown with a square neckline and a decadent pooling train. According to her stylist, Hollywood outfitter Leslie Fremar, the dress was the “ultimate couture experience,” requiring several trips to the label’s headquarters in Rome, a year of brainstorming, and a transatlantic trip by the head seamstress herself for any last-minute finishing touches.
While there were rumours that Victoria Beckham might design the gown for her new daughter-in-law, Peltz told Vogue that enlisting the help of Valentino creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli was a “no brainer.” Picciloi has a long list of notable fashion credits, including his viral all-pink show at Paris Fashion Week and dressing CFDA-certified fashion icon Zendaya on nearly every red carpet. An evil eye talisman (a charm intended to ward off the curse of jealousy) and a private message in blue thread were sewn into the dress at the request of Peltz’ mother, former fashion model Claudia Heffner Peltz
Kim Jones dressed the Beckham boys — Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz, and David — for Dior. The groom wore a black wool lapel tailcoat with a twist, a white shirt, white vest, and white bow tie, all of which were accented by a bezel set emerald-cut diamond chain by Anita Ko. Victoria Beckham, the award-winning designer and mother of the groom, arrived in a floor-length silver slip dress with silver lace and spaghetti straps, which she designed herself.
Celebrities such as Venus and Serena Williams, Eva Longoria, and Gordon Ramsey were among those who attended the lavish event. Nelson Peltz, her business mogul father, escorted Peltz down the aisle. “You’re the wind beneath my wings,” Peltz wrote in an Instagram post capturing the father-daughter moment, “thank you for the most beautiful weekend of my life.”
Beckham and Peltz also teamed up with the humanitarian organisation Care, and guests were reportedly encouraged to make donations in their honour to help civilians affected by the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
