According to Meta, Instagram is prepared to test a new feature that would let users “repost” content on the network with a select group of users.
The first person to notice the function was social media strategist Matt Navarra, who shared a screenshot on the platform. Alongside the tabs for posts and reels, there was a repost option.
The identical function was previously discovered in May by app researcher Alessandro Paluzzi.
A representative for Meta stated that the business was looking towards the “option to reshare posts in feed”. This is comparable to the resharing feature for Instagram stories. One of the explanations given in the email was so that content’s original producers might be given credit.
Instagram users are currently unable to share posts on their own profiles. However, the new feature seems intriguing for regular users since it would allow them to post content that speaks to them on their Feed rather than a Story that disappears after 24 hours.
