LAHORE: Following the cricket board’s confirmation that Naseem Shah had been diagnosed with pneumonia, sources on Thursday reported that the Pakistani speed ace had caught coronavirus.
After testing positive for the virus, the bowler, according to reports, has been disqualified from the T20I series against England that is now taking place in Lahore.
Naseem was transported to a hospital after experiencing a high fever the day before. Later, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) revealed that he had pneumonia.
A seven-game series between Pakistan and England has been moved from Karachi to Lahore’s renowned Gaddafi Stadium. The series is now 3-2 in favour of the Green Shirts.
