ISLAMABAD: On Friday, under the presidency of PM Shahbaz Sharif the National Security Committee (NSC) meeting has held in Islamabad, where it was decided to turn up the heat on terrorism and militancy with relentless hands in order to counter and take preemptive measures to further neutralize the threats present in the country in any form.
The Prime Minister’s Office issued a statement about the matter in which it is said that the NSC’s participants have expressed an unequivocal opinion that at all cost the national interest of Pakistan will be secured and will never be compromised and no one will be allowed to harm the national security.
The current NSC meeting was chaired by the PM Shahbaz Sharif and was attended by services chiefs, intelligence heads, and federal ministers, the statement mentioned.
Remember that the current meeting of NSC came after the outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban (TTP) latest announcement which says the end to the ceasefire with the Pakistani government and started several prevocational attacks on security forces, especially in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.
The statement issued by the PM office further says that during the NSC current meeting, the participants took into stock the country’s economic and security situation.
