Priyanka Chopra, famous Bollywood actress, is on a trip to her native country India where she is learning more about different facets of life. While doing so, she came across a group of girls in Uttar Pradesh who are battling for education despite they are facing several obstacles including poverty and social limitations.
On a social media app, Instagram, she posted a video of herself talking with these girls and listening to their predictions for the future on her Instagram account. Priyanka became upset when she known about a girl’s story of being pressured to get married in her early teen’s age. The said girls tried to continue to discuss the difficulties they have getting an education because sometimes their own families are opposed to it.
“As you all know, I’m a big believer in the power of education, but what I’ve witnessed here takes it to the next level,” she said in the description of the video she uploaded.
She said, “These youngsters are very encouraging, especially the girls. Even though the circumstances they have faced in their short lives are so difficult to comprehend, they have persevered in their fight to break free of the cycle of abuse and poverty they are currently experiencing. I also witnessed the strength of sisterhood, namely the Shakti Group, where female groups join together to form the solid support structure they require to develop and flourish.
On the professional front, Priyanka will appear in Hollywood’s Love Again and Farhan Akhtar’s Jee Le Zaraa.
