KABUL: Afghanistan’s Taliban minister on Thursday had said in an announcement that it had closed women’s universities partly due to the reason of female students did not abide by to its interpretation of the Islamic dress code. This decision of Taliban in Afghanistan was globally strongly condemned.
On Wednesday, the female universities students were not allowed to enter the campuses and further the ministry of higher education said that the access of female students would be suspended “until further notice”. Remember that this move received very strong and strict condemnation not only from foreign governments but also criticism from some Afghans, sparking protests in Afghan cities.
On this matter, the US Secretary of State Antony Blinken also commented and said the Taliban were trying to sentence Afghanistan’s women “to a dark future without opportunity” by barring them from attending universities.
