The city of Kreminna in eastern Ukraine has been overrun by Russian soldiers, according to the regional governor. Ukrainian troops have departed from the city.
Kreminna, a community of more than 18,000 inhabitants located roughly 100 kilometres (62 miles) southeast of Kyiv, looks to be the first city to be taken in a fresh Russian attack in eastern Ukraine.
“The ‘Orcs’ have taken control of Kreminna (Russians). They’ve arrived in town “The governor of the Luhansk area, Serhiy Gaidai, addressed a press conference.
“Our defenders were forced to flee. They’ve taken up fresh positions and are continuing to battle the Russian troops.”
Russian military had assaulted “from all sides,” he claimed.
“It is hard to quantify the number of civilians who have died. Official figures put the death toll at at 200, but there are likely many more “He didn’t specify the time period for which the death toll was projected.
Russia denies targeting people after launching a “special military operation” on February 24. Ukraine warned on Monday that Russian soldiers have begun a fresh attack aimed at eastern Ukraine after regrouping.
