RAMALLAH: According to the Palestinian health ministry, in the West Bank of Palestine, the occupied Israeli army martyred a 17-years old Palestinian citizen during a raid.
The occupied Israeile army shot the 17-years old Palestinian named Hamzeh al-Ashkar in the north city of Nablus, the ministry reported.
When asked about the above said incident, one of the military spokeserson commented that “He was armed and was firing on the (Israeli) forces,”.
In another military operation on Tuesday, the Israeli forces arrested at least 18 Palestinians in the northern West Bank town of Burqin near Jenin, the Palestinian Prisoners Club advocacy group said.
This military operations come during a time of heightened tensions between the occupied Israeli forces and the Palestinians and it is said that have drawn fears of a further escalation in violence.
The tension between the two heightened when on January 27, a gunman killed seven people near a synagogue in East Jerusalem, a day after an Israeli raid in the West Bank city of Jenin in which 10 Palestinians, including eight gunmen, were killed.
At least 42 Palestinians, militants and civilians have been martyred by the occupied Israeli forces, the Palestine health ministry said.
According to Intdailynews, the Israeli forces said the same raids as security measures that are targeting the suspected Palestinian militants. But on the other hand, the Palestinians considers the same raids as a form of collective punishment and said they are fighting against decades of Israeli occupation.
After increasing the tension between the occupied Israeli forces and the Palestinians who are fighting for their self-defenses, the United States, United Nations and other international organizations appealed both sides for calms and also prompted calls for peace.
