The United Kingdom stated on Saturday that it will increase humanitarian help to Ukraine by sending additional critical equipment to relief centres and hospitals.
The British government stated in a statement that it will provide an additional 287 generators to assist power relief centres, hospitals, phone towers, and water pumping stations. The new generators are enough to power the equivalent of about 8,000 houses and will be utilised for crucial services in the face of the continued catastrophe in Eastern Ukraine.
The UK will have provided 856 generators in all.
“As Putin’s atrocities have escalated, we are increasing our assistance for the Ukrainian people in their hour of need.” “Our provision of an additional 287 generators will guarantee that more critical services in Ukraine can continue to operate,” said Business and Energy Secretary Kwasi Kwarteng.
“Britain’s decision comes in response to a plea by Ukrainian Ambassador Vadym Prystaiko, who hailed the earlier shipment of generators with the words ‘the light will always prevail over darkness,'” the government stated.
The generators will be sent to a government hub in Poland. The generators will then be distributed around Ukraine by the Ukrainian government and the country’s electricity networks to where they are most required.

The policy normally prohibits the UK from giving any additional direct help for the fossil fuel energy industry overseas; however, the government announced two exclusions for Ukraine and Eastern Europe to allow the UK to support Ukraine’s energy and fuel requirements.
