The most recent Israeli airstrikes on Gaza, which resulted in at least 30 fatalities—including children and women—have been harshly criticised by the Turkish Foreign Ministry.
“We vehemently oppose the bombings by Israel on Gaza. We find it intolerable that victims of assaults were civilians, especially children, the Turkish Foreign Ministry stated in a statement.
Additionally, it stated that Turkey was closely monitoring the situation and encouraged de-escalation before it led to all-out conflict.
“The increased tension in the area following the assaults is highly concerning to us. We stress the urgent need to put a stop to these situations before they escalate into a new conflict, and we urge prudence and good judgement,” the remarks said.
